what is this? a dried out leaf of a plant from work through a microscope. When it’s dried out, seems like you can see the cells in the leaf. This is a Suaeda calceoliformis. It’s a little succulent annual that normally grows in the Great Basin, but it grow really fast and now is not the optimal time to grow it, but it happens to be when I need to run the experiment. And sometimes you can’t control everything, so this plant put out 3 sets of leaves and then poof, went to flower and seed and within a month it is done. So even though the plant is dead, I still want to see if there are any live mites on it. So I get to look at dead plant parts. So here it is, in all its glory!
