My first entrance back into visual arts started with painting classes in 2006 with Judi Pettite at Berkeley City College. Eventually I took all the painting class series and I couldn’t repeat the classes anymore. As more of my classmates were left in the same predicament, we began meeting at Studio One, in Oakland and then eventually at Live Oak Community Center on Tuesdays 6-10 pm. Charley Paff usually organizes it. The classes are not led by instructors; they are led by lots of snacks, good company, and the participants are open to exchanging feedback when asked. I’ve been on a break since 2016, but I want to return.
